Greetings to all my comrades. It is an honor to be elected and serve as Commander of this Post.
My goal is to continue our membership drive and serve the community.
Now just a brief history of myself. I am a Vietnam Veteran (66-67). I was stationed at Bin Thuy Air Base and a life member of of Chapter 708 in Rome, NY. I am a Past Post Commander of Henry P. Smith Post 24 of the American Legion in Rome, NY.. I am also a member of the 40/8, The Steczko Post and the Rome PolishHome.
Most of all I am a family man. My wife of 44 years is Elmora, and I also have two daughters, Venita and Tracee, as well as my son Terrance. We have three grandchildren - Terrance, Nawdya, and Deja.
I would like to add that my daughter Tracee is currently on active duty as an Air Force Master Sergeant
with over 20 years of service including a lengthy tour in the Mideast.
With the support of all our members I know that I will achieve my goals.
A very profound quotation by WWII General George Patton:
"The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his".
Thank You for your support and I am looking forward to serving you. Willie
